Ocean Rafting Sports - Half Day Fishing Charter

Please note that on specific dates in October and November, the Queensland government has put restrictions in place to protect the spawning of several fish species. Instead of our regular fishing trip which includes bottom bashing and trolling, we will only be offering trolling on these dates:
Oct 18 – Oct 22 and again Nov 17 – Nov 21

Please also note that to help Spanish Mackerel populations, the Queensland government has decreed that any Spanish Mackerel caught during the below dates must be released:
Oct 18 – Nov 8 and again Nov 17 – Dec 8

Whether you’re a beginning or an experienced angler, this half-day fishing charter guarantees a thrilling day out. You’ll have the chance to bottom fish for Coral Trout and assorted reef fish, as well as to try your hand at live baiting and trawling for Spanish Mackerel and Giant Trevally.

Sights and highlights

Enjoy cruising some of the most beautiful waters of the region as you weave through the islands of the Whitsundays on your way to the local fishing grounds. You may be lucky enough to see turtles and whales in season along the way.

Sample itinerary

Depart the Hamilton Island marina and your guide will set out to find the best fishing spots on the day given the conditions. Spend a couple of hours fishing before heading back to the dock.
