Parks, Ovals & Beaches

Hamilton Island has a number of parks, ovals and beaches available for public enjoyment.
 
Please note that dogs must be kept on leashes at all times when walking them in these parks, ovals of beaches on Hamilton Island. Refer to the Domestic Animals section for more information.

Parks

Point Henning Recreational Facility

Overlooking the Point Henning duck pond, The Point Henning Recreational facility has an undercover gazebo with table and chairs, a BBQ and toilet facilities.

Outrigger Lawn

Located on the western end of Catseye Beach, Outrigger Lawn is a secluded grass lawn with breathtaking views over the beach and bay. Residents can enjoy the space provided a private event is... not being held there.

Frangipani Pad

Located at the Eastern end of Catseye Beach, the Frangipani Pad is a 5,600 square metre flat grass lawn with views of the beach. Locals enjoy having picnics here, and it is also suitable for... playing a round of footy, cricket, and other sports activities.

Ovals

Sports Oval

Hamilton Island has a sports oval with a total land area of 5,500 square metres. The oval also has an outdoor clubhouse 230 square metres in size with BBQ, toilet and shower facilities.

Beaches

Catseye Beach

One of the most iconic locations on Hamilton Island, Catseye Beach is the perfect spot for relaxing, swimming and making the most of a wide range of watersports.

Southern Leads Beach

Located next to Hamilton Island Airport, this sandy beach is great for swimming, picnics and relaxing.

Remote Beaches

Hamilton Island has several remote beaches which are only accessible by walking trails.

Hideaway Bay

A secluded bay with tranquil waters and views towards Whitsunday Island. During low tide you will be able to walk out into the water more easily.

Escape Beach

Relax on soft white sand and enjoy the fun of feeling like you’re on a deserted island. Coming here is better on high or mid tide to save yourself the extra walk out for a swim.

Coral Cove

With tables nearby, Coral Cove makes a great spot for a picnic, with views of white sand, palm trees and pristine water. The optimal time to go is during mid-high tide.
