Dinnigan Launches 2014 Resort Collection at Audi Hamilton Island Race Week 23 August 2013 One of Australia’s top fashion designers launched her highly anticipated 2014 Resort Collection last night at the world’s best resort, qualia, on Hamilton Island. The Collette Dinnigan Resort Show & Cocktail Party, held as part of Audi Hamilton Island Race Week celebrations, was presented by the Oatley family to celebrate the dual milestones of the 30th anniversary of the great sailing regatta and 10th anniversary of the Oatley family’s custodianship of Hamilton Island. The star-studded guest list included Australia’s golden girl Asher Keddie and partner Vincent Fantauzzo, who sparkled from head to toe in Collette Dinnigan and Paspaley pearls, top male models Zac & Jordan Stenmark, celebrity stylist Romy Frydman, socialite and mother-to-be Terry Biviano, actress and director Gracie Otto, Sunrise Executive Producer Michael Pell, Vitamin King and entrepreneur Marcus and Caroline Blackmore, who recently married on the Island, as well as the entire Oatley family including patriarch Bob Oatley and wife Val. Guests enjoyed pre-show canapés and Charles Heidsieck champagne as the sun was setting at qualia’s waterside Pebble Beach, before being transferred up to the magnificent Long Pavilion for the parade. TV personality Catriona Rowntree emceed the event for 250 guests. The Collette Dinnigan 2014 Resort Collection was opened by model Alexandra Agoston wearing a silk and sequin halter top teamed with neat tailored shorts. Nicole Pollard and Montana Cox were also among the 14-strong contingent of the country’s top models, who flew into the Whitsunday Island for the occasion. Dinnigan’s latest, colourful collection was designed with two girls in mind; one very East Coast Country Club and conservative and the other racier and by a glamourous pool in Florida. Colourful yellow, orange and persimmon featured, along with Dinnigan’s trademark feminine lace, sparkle and glam embellishments for which she is best known. Once the parade came to a close, the entire audience surprised Bob Oatley with a cake for his recent 85th birthday, and sang an enthusiastic ‘Happy Birthday’ for the man who has led Hamilton Island to become the world-class destination it is today.
